Sab Link, craft, community and heritage in Aligarh
Create, Connect,
Reclaim
A community of craft & skill businesses and the art enthusiasts
About
Sab लिंक / Sab Link is a community-led initiative that brings together the crafters, skill businesses and the lovers of art and craft in India’s smaller cities. Many craft and skill based businesses, especially those led by women and other marginalised communities, stay invisible in mainstream spaces, and the uniqueness they carry lose their audience due to fast fashion and consumerism. We connect these crafters with people who want to learn from them, buy directly from them and keep their work alive. Through workshops, pop-up stalls and exchange programs. And through Reclaim Spaces, a series that takes people back into the heritage spaces, artforms, and legacy of their own city, we are building a community where both sides grow together. We are currently live in Aligarh, growing further to various cities.

I loved the workshop ! Zeenat Aapa is a really patient and talented crochet artist and instructor and she gave all participants individual attention . I was able to learn the basics despite being a beginner in the craft. The products she showcased were also beautiful . The organiser- Hiba appi and all volunteers did an incredible job at making the event warm and comforting and enjoyable for all age groups . It was a perfect start to winter! Looking forward to more such events. All the best to the team! Keep up the great work.

“The experience was truly wonderful, as it brought together history, poetry, and meaningful conversations in such a beautiful way. The heritage walk offered a chance to connect with our history and heritage, while the shayari and baithak added a special touch of art, emotions, and reflection. It was more than just an event and it was an opportunity to appreciate our cultural roots, share ideas, and connect with like minded people... Grateful to Sab Link for organising such a thoughtful and enriching experience. Looking forward to being a part of more such gatherings....!✨✨”
